Chocolate Cruller
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A traditional cruller (or twister) is a twisted, oblong, fried pastry made of dough somewhat like that of a cake doughnut, often topped with plain powdered sugar; powdered sugar mixed with cinnamon; or icing.
The name can also refer to the French cruller, a fluted, ring-shaped doughnut made from choux pastry with a light airy texture.

Cinnamon Cake
When I was in high school I worked at the ("World Famous") Farmer's Market at Third and Fairfax in Los Angeles. I sold produce during the summer. On break, I would often go up to Bob's Donuts where my friend Bonnie worked, and she would sell me a cinnamon cake donut just like the one pictured here today. Bonnie was a year behind me in school. We never kept in touch; I don' t know where she went to college. I assume she's not working at Bob's Donuts any more. As I recall, she was a National Merit Scholar...

Apple Fritter
Trivia fact: there are no donut shops in Boulder, Colorado. The local population is too "health concious." You can still get a donut in Starbucks, but they're $1.65 for a glazed old-fashioned, and they're not very good.
Today's apple fritter is a featured selection from Daily Donuts in Sunnyvale, California, where there is thankfully no dearth of independent donut shops.

Devil's Food with Nuts
This is a devil's food donut because it uses chocolate cake flour. Usually, a "chocolate" donut is one with chocolate icing. I suppose the canonical chocolate donut would be a chocolate raised donut. The donut pictured is also a chocolate donut. I guess the most specific description would be a chocolate devil's food donut with nuts.
I don't eat donuts with nuts. This was for Erin.

Result of rain
This photo of Uvas Reservoir was taken on March 14. Compare it to the one taken on February 21. The snow water content in the Sierras is now near normal.

Miyata Triple Cross
Latest incarnation of the Miyata, with vintage clamp-on Suntour Powershifters scrounged from ebay. Brooks Pro saddle (recently replaced with a B68), Blackburn rack, Arkel Bug pannier. The handlebars are Nitto Albatross bars from Rivendell. The kickstand is also from Rivendell.
I've found that the steering geometry of ths bike is actually pretty well suited to the upright bars, compared to the Zoom Brahma bars I had on before. Looking for a decent front cable hanger so I can use a different stem.
