Double Down McRib!!

Two pieces of bread, two pieces of fried chicken, two slices of cheese, two strips of bacon, onions, pickles, and a McRib patty: 990 calories, 58 grams of fat.

In April this year, KFC introduced the Double Down sandwich, featuring two pieces of fried chicken instead of bread, with two slices of cheese and two strips of bacon between them. Later in the year, McDonalds re-introduced the McRib sandwich to much fanfare, but for a limited time ending December 5. The McRib is only periodically available -- a dozen years can go by without it being on the menu. So yesterday was the last day for a while that one could buy a KFC Double Down and combine it with a McRib sandwich for meaty goodness.

At the corner of Stelling and Homestead, at the Cupertino-Sunnyvale border, McDonalds and a KFC stand kitty-corner from one another... beckoning.
